Dear valued customers

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Hope Bakes will be taking a hiatus. My tiny business has become unprofitable and the only way to fix this is to grow and unfortunately that is just not in the cards for my family at this time with our two small children. I WILL BE BACK and I will return better then ever. Please have patients and please continue to shop local, many family’s depend on all of us doing so.

Thank you for all the support I have had and continue to get. I feel the love.

Many thanks,

Hope

THE WOMAN BEHIND THE CAKES

Hope Avery
Owner, Mom, Wife

Hope grew up on strawberries and sunshine in the Salinas Valley and after finding her true love and a failed attempt at “regular college” Hope decided to follow a dream and go to pastry school. Hope graduated second in her class from International Culinary Center in San Jose in 2011 and was ready to dive into the baking and pastry world. She landed at none other then the Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant where she thrived under owner Michelle Rizzolo and head baker Matthew Somerville as their assistant baker. After adding mom to her list of titles she decided she wanted to add another title: Entrepreneur. Hope started Hope Bakes in 2016, a one women operation where she does everything from grocery shop to washing dishes... oh, and also creates the most delicious works of art you will ever eat.

Delicious Memoirs

Hope baked and decorated a beautiful cake for my wedding in Big Sur! She was super easy to work with and was so responsive to all my questions about cake sizes, flavors, and decoration options. She even sent me photos for sizing reference when I was waffling between sizes which was so helpful and nice. After our tasting, we decided on vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream, with a vanilla pastry cream and fresh strawberries for the filling. Yum! Wedding day delivery went without a hitch and the presentation was just perfect. The cake looked prettier than I had imaged. Thank you!

I told Hope that my daugther likes peanutbutter. She made a gorgeous peanutbutter cake that was probably the best desert I've ever eaten. The whole thing was topped with candies with peanut butter frosting on the inside. It was perfect.

Hope Avery has been making our cakes for 7+ years!! She has a natural born talent for baking and has turned it into a beautiful art! She is our family's go-to for cakes for Celebratory events and her gluten-free goods are delectable as well! HIGHLY recommend.

Craving something sweet?

The best thing about Hope Bakes is you will get to work directly with me, not an underling, or an apprentice. I will be giving you all of my undivided attention to make your event the best it can possibly be.

That does mean that my schedule fills up quickly. I will not double book and I will not cut corners with a client. It's best to book in advance to gaurantee your date.

I return emails every Tuesday, so if you send me a message, you can expect to hear from me then.
